European Coalition
Europe is home to many of the world’s largest garment brands, and a significant portion of global garment production is destined for the European market. However, garment production also takes place within Europe, both within the EU and in neighbouring countries, where workers face rights violations and poor working conditions daily.
As part of a global network, CCC European Coalition collaborates with organisations worldwide to improve labour conditions for garment workers. Our work includes:
Research – Investigating factory conditions and reporting on workers’ realities.
Campaigning – Raising awareness and mobilising consumers to demand better working conditions.
Advocacy – Engaging brands, policymakers, and international institutions to push for stronger worker protections.
Legislative Action – Lobbying for binding agreements and legal frameworks to hold companies accountable.
Our priorities:
Living wages – Ensuring garment workers are paid fairly.
Health and safety – Improving working conditions and factory safety.
Just transition – Advocating for sustainable industry changes that centre workers’ rights.
Legislation and binding agreements – Strengthening human rights due diligence laws.
In production countries, CCC investigates the conditions of garment workers to report on their reality and supports garment workers directly. Our Achievements also include:
European Floor Wage Benchmark – The first credible methodology for calculating a living wage for garment workers in East and South-East Europe.
EU Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence Directive – Advocating for a strong directive that prioritises workers’ rights.
Living Wage Action Day 2024 – Raising awareness globally about the ongoing fight for fair wages, particularly in the context of the ecological and climate crisis.
By working together, CCC European Coalition strives to ensure that all garment workers – in Europe and beyond – have access to fair wages, safe workplaces, and respect for their rights.
