In Memoriam Korshed Alam, August 18, 1966 - November 17, 2012
For more than 15 years, Korshed was a close friend and a strong partner of the CCC Network. He was an outstanding researcher, who combined his intellectual prowess with a real engagement with issues of social justice and labor rights. His commitment to workers, in Bangladesh and elsewhere, was unwavering, and the struggle for workers' rights guided Korshed in all his work. Korshed was a courageous man, always there for workers, and willing to take risks to stand for what he believed in.
As a key partner for CCC, Korshed was a solid fixture in the CCC firmament. He was always ready to participate in CCC activities, and each and every time his contributions were essential and of high quality. Korshed was a thoughtful ally, who could be counted on to give his opinion, all the while maintaining his good humor and kindness. His spirit of collaboration and his tireless efforts to bring people together have been of tremendous importance to the CCC Network, especially when it comes to our work in solidarity with Bangladeshi workers. Korshed was not only a hard worker and a dedicated activist, but also a friend ready to share jokes and laughter.
We send our heartfelt condolences to his family and friends. Our thoughts are with them. Korshed's passing is a loss to CCC and to our movement. Korshed will not be forgotten, and we vow to continue our common struggle to empower workers and have their rights respected.
