Short-term International Fundraising and Supporter Engagement Consultant

Clean Clothes Campaign (CCC) is dedicated to improving working conditions and supporting the empowerment of workers - most of them women - in the global garment and sportswear industry. The role

This is a freelance position for a total of 52 days over a period of six months, starting as soon as possible in May. 

We are looking for an online public fundraising and supporter engagement consultant who combines a hands-on approach with strategic advice to create effective supporter journeys that help us retain current supporters, reach new audiences and maximise our income from individual donations. 

By the end of the period, we expect that improvements have been implemented, a roadmap for effective supporter journeys will be developed, and individual donations will be shared with the team. The proposal should be such that the team is confident about its feasibility. While the consultant will be working closely with members of the communications and fundraising team, they must have the ability to lead this work independently.

Tasks and responsibilities

  • Support to coordination and implementation of multi-channel individual fundraising campaigns for acquisition of individual one-off and monthly donations.
  • Research our existing individual donors, newsletter subscribers, and supporters (primarily based in the United States and the United Kingdom) who engage with us online, including on social media, to understand who they are and how they engage with us. Create effective supporter journeys to retain and increase their engagement with CCC’s public campaigns.
  • Through message testing and other approaches, identify opportunities to retain existing supporters and reach new audiences across digital channels.

We are looking for

  • Solid experience in non-profit sector marketing and communications with specific focus on engaging and retaining supporters across digital channels.
  • Knowledge of international fundraising regulations, GDPR and other legislation
  • Strong technical background and skills in the use of content management systems, Google Analytics, social media platforms, Google Ads and Meta Political Ads, e-mail broadcasting tools (MailChimp), payment platforms (Stripe) and mobile messaging applications.
  • Strong analytical skills and solid understanding of web metrics, digital analytics, with the ability to generate, analyse and interpret data.
  • Ability to develop creative solutions for delivering fundraising campaigns.
  • Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Attention to detail and problem-solving skills, combined with creative thinking.
  • Fluency in English.
  • Affinity with social/labour movements and the vision and mission of CCC.


About Schone Kleren Campagne / Clean Clothes Campaign

The organisation hosts two teams of 28 staff members: the International Office (IO), which supports the CCC global network, and the Dutch Schone Kleren Campagne (SKC), which coordinates CCC activities in the Netherlands. These two teams are supported by IT, HR, Fundraising, Grant Management and Finance specialists.

This is a dynamic consultancy position in a non-hierarchical organisation within an inspiring international network. It is mainly remote, with an optional in-office presence. We offer a daily (8 hours) fee of 342 euros, excluding VAT. Please note that, due to our principle of equality, the fee is not negotiable.
